The firm

Who handles your case

A named, accountable person from day one, with specialist support when your matter calls for another kind of expertise.

How we work

  • A named owner for every file
  • One point of contact, even when several areas are involved
  • A fixed fee agreed before work begins
  • Regular updates without having to ask for them
  • External collaborators only with your knowledge

Cautio covers eight areas of law, with criminal defence at the front, and draws on specialists in each field when a matter calls for it. We don't promise a bench of lawyers we don't have — we promise that your file always has an owner, and that you know who that is from day one.

The difference shows on matters that cross more than one area — in practice, almost all of them: an inspection that turns into a tax offence, an inheritance involving leased property and a company, an owners' community that needs to claim a debt and process a grant at the same time.

In those cases, whoever is handling your matter doesn't improvise outside their own field — they bring in the right specialist. You don't manage the coordination between professionals; we do.

How a matter gets assigned

After the first consultation, we identify which areas are involved and appoint a responsible lawyer, who centralises communication and answers for the whole matter. When an external collaborator is needed — an expert witness, a court agent, a lawyer in another specialty — we tell you beforehand, not after, and your point of contact stays the same.

How we approach the work

Judgement over volume

We'd rather tell you clearly that a matter has no real prospects than sustain an expectation we won't meet.

Everything in writing

Scope, fees and timelines documented from the start — no items that appear halfway through the process.

Plain language

We explain your matter so you can decide with real understanding. The decision is yours; the technical information is our responsibility.
